Seals for Rotary Valve

The Application

A powder processing operation was experiencing product leakage from a rotary valve. The existing OEM seals were not designed for the specific powder characteristics and operating speed of the valve. This was causing product waste and creating a contamination risk.

Our Solution

We designed a custom profile seal using specialist seal design software, matched to the exact geometry of the rotary valve. The material was selected for abrasion resistance against the powder medium and compatibility with the cleaning regime.

The Outcome

Leakage was eliminated entirely. The maintenance interval for seal replacement was extended to three times the previous schedule. The customer also reported reduced product waste and improved yield from the processing line.
